This being Newton, we can expect a highly erudite and educated audience - writers, recently ordained rabbis, not so recently ordained rabbis, experts on early New Orleans cornet players, doctors, lawyers, former gubernatorial candidates, that sort of thing.

And what will all these movers and shakers being doing at 2 PM, Sunday, June 24th? Moving and shaking to the infectious groove of Boston's favorite jug band! Come down for an entertaining and edifying afternoon!

Saturday, July 14th, 2018; 7:30 to 8:30 PM
Thoreau Society Annual Gathering
First Parish In Concord
20 Lexington Rd, Concord, MA
Speaking of erudition, it will be on display in all its finery at the Annual Gathering of the Thoreau Society. While we can't promise to rise to the exalted intellectual level of the rest of the proceedings, we shall endeavor to shed light on a hitherto little-known corner of Thoreau scholarship; to wit, the relationship between Henry David Thoreau, Chuck Barry, and the transcendentalist school of rock and roll guitar. It promises to be a revelatory performance!
